Whether in our schools or the wider community it is clear we will not tackle the climate or ecological crises we face if enough people do not understand the problems and the potential solutions.
The event considered questions such as how schools and places of further education can ensure our ability to sustain life on the planet is core to everyday education and how can we get this message out to the wider public in a way that engages, informs and inspires action (or at the very least acceptance of the need to change.
Looking at the programmes offered by Zero Carbon Britain, the exciting Earth Charter School concept (please see the video clip below) and many local initiatives the event started a discussion that will be followed up in our Vision document and future events.
