![]() Two pairs of beavers have been released into the wild at Little Sea, Studland, under licence from the government. It was the first licence of its kind to be issued in England – all the previous ones have been for beavers in enclosures. ZCD believes this is a watershed moment for nature recovery in the UK. Beavers are often referred to as aquatic engineers, creating habitats where fish and other wildlife can thrive, reducing downstream flood risk and improving water quality.
